Santa Monica High School is the closest high school to Paradise Hotel, and the high school Warren and Tessa tend to suggest hotel residents attend. It's a big-ass school and easy to hide people in, and it's a moderately decent school to boot. There are over 3500 students at the school, and has a strong music department and athletics program. In particular, its volleyball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, cross country and girls softball teams are strong, though its football team? Not so much. Their teams are the Vikings, and the mascots Victor and Vicki Viking. It's recently had a lot of problems with racial tensions on campus, resulting with the then headmistress being forced to resign. The school is affectionately (and somewhat officially) known as 'SaMoHi'.
[edit] Mutant Issues
Due to several incidents during the 08-09 school year, Samohi students and faculty have become very aware of the mutants in their midst. While there have been quite a few incidents between mutant and human students, the faculty have attempted to remain as tolerant as possible thus far. Late in the school year they hosted a student forum to discuss the issue, with guest speakers Charles Xavier and Hank McCoy.
